Mango is officially in Chennai ! We partnered with KC High, Chennai to launch Astronomy club program for primary and middle school learners.

A mega science conference organized by the kids: SCICON 2019 was organized wherein several scientists and experts from across the country visited Coimbatore and interacted with over 500 students. The same year was also Mango Astronomy Club’s first international stargazing expedition to Mauritius. We were the only team from India to visit and document the Mercury Transit on 11th Nov 2019.

First of its kind ‘Kids Ask Scientist’ event organized by students of Mango Education. Young Astronomer and Young Game Developer become year-long programs with over 100 students signing up. Mango Astronomy Club entirely run by the students was set up to promote science to the public. The club visited the Sriharikotta facility of ISRO.

Science themed expeditions to various parts of the country to inspire students to learn about the natural world around them, were arranged. We also had our first ever expedition to the Himalayas with students to visit the Hanle Dark Sky Reserve in Ladakh. Nearly 1500 students were engaged through our astronomy programs and science themed expeditions. We also worked with Greater Chennai Corporation and Coimbatore Corporation to organise science workshops and sessions for corporation school kids.

We set astronomy clubs in schools working with over 750 students engaged through our astronomy programs during the course of the year

Still under lockdown, we launched several online batches on astronomy catering to students from the Middle East and Singapore, and for students from within the country. Nearly 200 students attended the programs.
