League of Little Stars 2
Mango Education has created a storybook named "League of the Little Stars 2," which consists of 10 best Sci-fi stories written by our winners of the Sci-fi Story writing competition that was conducted by us in 2019. During the book launch, Mr. Narendra Nayak, Founder of the Dakshina Kannada Rationalist Association, gave a talk where he used science to debunk myths and false beliefs.
Story of IAO,Hanle
Mango Education held an interactive session at the Regional Science Center in Coimbatore on the Indian Astronomical Observatory (IAO) in Hanle.
Dr. Tushar P. Prabhu from the Indian Institute of Astrophysics discussed its history and recent developments. About 200 students from various schools in Coimbatore attended.
IAU Exoplanet Naming Competition
For the 2022 International Astronomical Union (IAU) Exoplanet Naming Competition, we held an event where we asked the kids of the schools we deal with to name an exoplanet (GJ 436b) and a star (GJ 436a) in their local tongue. An event was held at the Regional Science Centre in Coimbatore to unveil the best name submitted by kids. We had an amazing time interacting with the kids, and they suggested names for the planet and star. Dr. Aswin from Paris Observatory and Mr. Abilash from Neydhal Restaurant were guests of honor, and Dr. G. S. Sameeran, IAS, District Collector, Coimbatore, was the Chief Guest who announced the official name that was chosen. The finest names for these two objects were Nelicolu and Bugiri.
SCICON 2019
Mango Education jointly conducted a one-day conference on Science and Technology for school students. Around 500 kids from various schools in and around coimbatore participated and grabbed the chance to discuss about variety of fascinating fields with the experts from the same fields.
