A summary of the program.

Expert: Dr.Biju Kumar, Professor & HOD of Aquatic Biology and Fisheries, University of Kerala

Dr Biju currently serves as Professor and Head of the Department of Aquatic Biology and Fisheries, University of Kerala. He is passionate about life in aquatic systems, diversity of aquatic organisms, specifically marine life. He and his team have discovered and described over 50 marine animals from the Indian coast, discovered the first tree crab of India, and recorded dolphin-assisted fishing on the Indian coast. He has earlier edited Science India, a science magazine for children. Dr Biju is a member of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Species Survival Commission (SSC). A science communicator and environmental educator, he has published about 200 research papers, 25 books, and several popular articles.

In this session, he will be discussing and answering kids' questions on marine biodiversity, ecology, plastic pollution in the oceans, marine animals of India, and the future of oceans.
