Racing With An Automobile Engineer

Overview

A summary of the program.

What has helped humans reach speeds of 420 km/h in the land that the Peregrine falcon does in the air? In spite of lacking the streamlined shape and the strong wings, humanity has experienced greater speeds that nature deprived us of. Thanks to motorsports engineering that churns out vehicles that can drive upside down and challenge the jets in their acceleration! The clever inventions and improvements that have gone into making a mass of metal into a racing masterpiece will be the core of this program. Here we will together explore and understand what it takes to engineer one such race car in our own backyard. We will understand the concept of a formula race car, a race championship, race strategies and get insights into the role of a motorsports engineer in solving exciting problems.

  • How do you keep an object that faces an explosion of hundreds of degrees cool?
  • How do you effectively lose speed of hundreds of Kmph in a matter of few meters?
  • How do you efficiently accelerate out of a corner to 370 km/h in 15 s and keep doing that for 50 laps?

Those who have come into Formula One without experiencing cars devoid of electronic aids will find it tough. To control 800 horse power relying just on arm muscles and foot sensitivity can turn out to be a dangerous exercise.
