Overview

A summary of the program.

As you walk up to the terrace and look up at the night sky, a sense of calmness settles in, a sense serenity kicks in. In all of this captivating view of the sky, every moment, things are changing. As you read this, it is probable a new galaxy is in its infancy, a star somewhere deep in the cosmos is born, or life is about to find a way in a planet that is orbiting a star very much like our own. It is also highly probable, in this precise moment, a star is dying a magnificent death - a supernova, or two black holes have just become one in a violent merger. The cosmos is alive and buzzing with events in this apparent calmness of the night sky.

Mango Astronomy Club for kids is an opportunity for kids to look deep into the sky, explore the ever changing cosmos, discuss various topics on astronomy and the physics involved, and also interact with experts in the field. And of course, kids get be a part of celestial events and star gaze together.

Activities under the club:

  • Twice a month sessions
  • Newsletter (once in 2 months)
  • Once in 3 months interaction with experts
  • Stargazing for celestial events

Privileges for the members of the club:

  • Once in 3 months visit to research institutes
  • Once in 4 months visit to exotic locations for stargazing

Membership Eligibility: Kids who have completed the six month astronomy course - Young Astronomer Program.
