Scientific Literacy Of A Society

Session info

Join us for an insightful discussion on 'scientific literacy of a society'.

"We live in a society exquisitely dependent on science and technology, in which hardly anyone knows anything about science and technology" - Dr. Carl Sagan.

This statement was made nearly 30 years ago. There has been a lot of scientific breakthroughs and technological advancements since then, but even today, the basic literacy in science and technology in society seems far from reality.

In this session, Obuli Chandran will be talking about what is scientific literacy, and why it is no more a luxury but a need in the 21st century for a society. He will also discuss a few possible solutions to address the issue.
