Equinox and Supermoon – A Rare Celestial Alignment

A summary of the program.

The cosmos is a vibrant and lively place! The majesty and magnificence of it is more intensely felt during celestial spectacles. March 21, 2019, happens to be one of them where 3 events occur on the same day: equinox, a full moon and a super moon.

Equinox day allows us to measure the latitude of our location and also this rare alignment gives us an opportunity to measure the orbital tilt of the moon with respect to the earth-sun orbital plane, both of which we will attempt to measure on this day.

This event is organised by Mango Astronomy Club, where the members (kids), would be taking us into a journey of understanding these and would be engaging with the people who will be joining us for the event.

All science enthusiasts, kids and their parents can be part of the event. But prior registration is mandatory.
